[GIFTED] Whistle Pig Straight Rye

If you grew up in the Niagara Falls area in the late 1980's to the mid-1990's, you'll probably recall a gross little establishment called Whistle Pig's.  It was on the corner of an extremely busy intersection, which, of course, is the best place to put a mini-playland for kids.  The joint's namesake—the Whistle Pig—referred to their specialty "dish": a hot dog stuffed with cheddar cheese and wrapped in bacon.  If this place was still around, you KNOW that Guy Fieri and his frosted tips and backwards sunglasses would be rolling up there.

What does this have to do with fine, small batch whiskey that's also named Whistle Pig?  NOTHING.  Sometimes, when you're reading this blog, you'll be forced to take a long, tedious walk with me down memory lane.  It's inevitable.

Of course, this Whistle Pig Straight Rye (Various prices, various locations) would be the perfect gift for anyone who remembers the Whistle Pig on Niagara Falls Boulevard.  If they drank enough of it in one sitting, it would also help them reenact the time when they were six-years-old, when they ate two Whistle Pigs, went on the spinning airplane ride, and threw up all over the parking lot.

For those of you who DON'T remember the Whistle Pig, it's just great whiskey.  And, like a good bottle of wine or an extremely potent bag of marijuana, it is always a great gift.
